The Perspective exhibit opened in March 2023 and highlights how changing perspectives helps us see history all around us, and how history influences where we live, how we travel, and what is visible in the Fox Valley today.

Graham Images is excited to be one of the exhibits sponsors and honored to have contributed a number of the photos on display.

Two of these photos set a new record size for my printed images (besides a billboard), measuring in at a whopping 8x10 feet! Which is a whole new perspective for me to see my work.

I recently was able to experience the entire exhibit which consists of 10 unique chapters. Each of the chapters focuses on historic maps and images that represent local history in different ways.

It is fascinating how Appleton as a city and as a community have both changed and stayed much the same of the past 200 or so years. In order to try to understand the past, we must look at our history from multiple perspectives. Maps and photographs, like artifacts and archives, take on new meanings when viewed in different ways.

Changing perspectives helps us see history all around us. Seeing history from multiple perspectives does not change the past, but it can alter our understanding of the present.
