Architecture Photos From Across The Country

Architecture Photos From Across The Country

I’ve been travelling quite a bit for work and as I was working to edit photos I found myself sitting back and enjoying a few as well. In today’s post I thought I’d share the 10 images that had me pausing in the midst of a busy work day. Hopefully they’ll help you “stop and smell the roses” today.

So...starting off we have…

Grandview Dental in Appleton, WI

I really wanted to capture the severe angles of the building. The photos I took during daylight hours didn’t showcase them the way I was envisioning so I returned at dusk and thrilled with what I found. Not only did I get the dark blue of a Wisconsin evening, but the interior lights were nice and bright as the cleaning staff was just arriving. It’s as if the building is attacking the night trying to shine light into the darkness.

The Title Town District in Green Bay, WI

The changes to the tailgating scene before a Packer game still surprise me. Yes, you get the neighborhood vibe and all, but the build up of year-round facilities is amazing! In most cities, arenas and stadiums are surrounded by acres of paved parking lot, but not in Green Bay! We keep that area open for awesome pregame parties and yes...beautiful photography.

Ascension Seton Southwest Hospital, Austin, TX

Our next two photos come from the great state of Texas. I took these during my travels around the country while completing a large project for Ascension Medical. It was definitely a “right place-right time” moment for the facade photo. You get the warm, soft light in the top half of the image that is contrasted by the deeper colors and shadows in the bottom half that are created by the starburst effect of the sun. In the drone image there are some really interesting topographical features and patterns that draw you in and forces you to linger for a bit.

Ascension Medical Clinic, Wauwatosa, WI

Here is another image from an Ascension Medical project. The building lifts the greens up into the photo and at the same time with the reflection of the fading light of dusk draws those warm colors over the building giving it life. Since this image is for promotional and marketing use I also wanted to leave usable space for text, hence the top left quarter of the image.

Lawrence University, Appleton, WI

There’s not much for me to say about this one. I just love this photo. If you enjoy this bird’s eye view of Lawrence University and the Fox River, you should check out these.

Beautiful Kitchen Interior

Buildings by CR Structures in The Fox Valley

Here we have two evening shots of buildings constructed by CR Structures . With modern commercial buildings I prefer shooting during dusk because the lighting is more favorable to accenting the architectural details of the buildings. The lighting also helps soften the steel and concrete that is a staple in today’s commercial buildings making them more inviting.

Integrity Insurance, Appleton, WI

Following the curve of the building your eye moves left-to-right taking in the image while the curves of the path and the reflection in the windows brings your eye back in, creating a natural circular movement.
