SOMETHING NICE

Something Nice is a portrait project that I photographed in one night at the closing of a pop-up art gallery in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. The project was shown in print as exhibits at The Draw and Becket's. I am hoping to have it on display at facilities that would be a right fit for it. Please reach out to me if you have any ideas.

FOX11 News out of Green Bay stopped by on the night of. Here is a link to their news story.

"Huh? What am I looking at???"

You are looking at the exchange of a compliment. Each photo was created by the complimenter writing a compliment on glass, the receiver holding the glass, then the giver verbalizing the words. The photo was taken as each person reacted to the moment.

"So… this is photoshopped, right? How did you do this in photoshop?"

Nope! They were created using three lights and a piece of glass. You can see the complimenter by their reflection in the glass. The colorful background was done with gels. Outside of normal adjustments (contrast, coloring, etc) there is no “photoshopping” done to these images.
