Best of January 2018

Happy New Year!!

It's 9pm and change on the last day of February... so that means it's BEST OF JANUARY BLOG POST TIME!!!

January brought along some neat photo sessions and opportunities, it also brought a lot of paperwork as I start to wrap up 2017 and prepare for the new year ahead of us.

I'll won't bore you with the paperwork details, I'll just show some pretty photos! Thanks for stopping by!

The first day of the year brought a super wolf moon. It happened to be rising in the east as the sun set in the west... so it made for some great photos. I tried to schedule a portrait for it, but with the temperature hovering around 0 I'm glad I didn't.

I took a trip to the Paine Art Center for a client. We were in search of some stock type images for holiday marketing materials. We only had an hour in the facility, and I used every minute of it. If you haven't been there for the Nut Cracker experience you should change that.

I hung out with some fantastic musicians; Smooth Hound Smith and Wild Adriatic. Both groups are great people and great musicians. If you like music (yeah, you) you should check 'em out.

I met up with some more awesome volunteers in our community for the Good Neighbor story I work on for The Post-Crescent.

Miron Construction celebrated 100 years as a company by having a team building event in downtown Appleton. 24 teams of employees went on an "Amazing Race" type scavenger hunt throughout our downtown. They had me along for the day to capture their best working together.

This was a fun one to work on.

I finished up a project with the Fox Valley Symphony for their comedy/drama concert called Sinfonia. This year's theme is "Sinfonia Goes to the Movies." They are performing music from 5 legendary movies, so I made posters with the "players" in honor of the music they're playing.
