Friday, Appleton - A Sigma Test Run

This one Friday night I took to the town to run around to 6-7 different events going on in one night in the Fox Cities. The main catalyst for this whirlwind tour was having some Sigma lenses borrowed to me to use for the weekend. I have been eyeing up a couple of their products (135mm 1.8 and 35mm 1.4) and thankfully had the ability to try them on this Friday night before I used them on some project shoots on Saturday and Sunday. (My limited gear-geek talk; they're awesome).

The night started for me at Appleton's annual License to Cruise event. It's a bunch of beautiful cars and streets full of people.

While walking around during License to Cruise I ran into one of my son's baseball teammates and a couple of my friend's daughters. They were great test subjects for portraits with the 135mm.

I then dipped into Gibson Music Hall to catch a couple songs by Kyle Megna and the Monsoons.

From there I strolled over to a gallery opening at the Wriston Art Galleries at Lawrence University. The photo below is from Patrick Earl Hammie's works on display. The current exhibit is up until November 19th... more info here.

Next on the docket, after a  short walk, was the seasonal kickoff party for the AAF Fox River Ad Club at the Warch Center at Lawrence. Featured photo is of Aaron Jankowski taking a portrait of a woman holding pickles... Why? 'cuz... that's why.

A short walk back through the License to Cruise crowd found me at OuterEdge Stage for a Mile of Music production of Banditos with Andrew Bryant opening. Photos of Banditos performing and Andrew posing.

As I was walking from OuterEdge to my car parked by the Police Department I saw something you don't see on city streets everyday...

To cap off the night I drove to The Source Public House in Menasha for Ifdakar and Mungion. Unfortunately I missed out on catching Ifdakar's set, but enjoyed the few songs of Mungion I caught. With new lenses on the cameras I found myself just looking for different images... so I found myself shooting through glasses of beer and water.

I had a great night bopping around town trying some new-to-me gear.

Thanks for stopping by!
